As a unit still photographer on a film set, my job is to capture create promotional materials for the production. It's a fast-paced and exciting job, but it also requires a lot of planning and attention to detail.
One of the most important aspects of my job is working closely with the director and producers to understand the vision for the film and ensure that my photographs reflect that vision. This often involves scouting locations and setting up shots in advance, as well as coordinating with the art department and other members of the crew.
On set, I'm constantly on the lookout for interesting and unique moments to photograph. This can include candid shots of the actors and crew, as well as more structured shots that highlight the production design and costumes. It's important to be adaptable and ready to capture whatever comes my way, as every film set is different and presents its own challenges and opportunities.
One of the most rewarding parts of being a unit still photographer is being able to see my work used in the promotion and marketing of the film. It's exciting to see my photographs on posters, trailers, and other materials, and to know that I played a small but important role in bringing the film to life.
Overall, being a unit still photographer is a challenging but rewarding job that requires a combination of technical skill and creative vision. It's a unique opportunity to be a part of the film industry and to contribute to the magic of movie-making.
